A body to body massage on a business trip is a different booking from the one a tourist makes. The traveller is tired in a particular way, the evening is shorter, and tomorrow starts early with people who expect you sharp. The technique suits that tiredness well. The timing needs a little more thought.
These notes come from the questions business visitors ask on the thread, most of them written between a client dinner and the hotel lift.
The shape of a working traveller's fatigue
A week of work away from home leaves a recognisable pattern. The shoulders rise and stay there, from a laptop on a hotel desk and a bag on one side. The lower back stiffens from conference chairs and taxis. The neck turns less than it did on Monday. And the mind stays switched on well past the point where the body wants to stop.
Hand massage reaches the shoulders but struggles with that general heaviness. Broad, weight-led contact covers the whole back at once and asks nothing of the mind. Many business clients say the moment they stopped thinking about the next day was the first long forearm pass, not the end of the session.
Timing a body to body massage on a business trip
The most common mistake is booking straight after a heavy dinner with wine. Weight on a full stomach is uncomfortable when you lie face down, and alcohol dulls the sensation you are paying for. Leave an hour after eating, and keep to a glass or two.
The second mistake is booking too late for the morning. A ninety-minute session starting at eleven ends at half past twelve, and most people sleep deeply afterwards. If you have a meeting at eight, that is fine. If you have a seven o'clock flight, an hour at nine or ten is kinder to tomorrow.
Write when dinner is ending, not when you are back in the room. Confirmation takes about ten minutes and the therapist needs forty to sixty minutes to reach a central address, so a message at half past nine brings her to the door by half past ten or so.
Which length suits a working evening
An hour, at €180, fits the tightest evenings and still contains every stage of the technique. Ninety minutes, at €270, is what most business travellers book once they have tried it, because the extra time goes into the broad contact on the back that the week has tightened. Two hours, at €360, belong to the last night of a trip, when nothing is scheduled for the morning.
Book ahead if you know your free evening in advance. A reservation made more than a day ahead sends half the fee to confirm it, and that guarantees the time on an evening when your schedule is fixed but the city is busy.
Conference weeks
Large conferences fill central hotels and fill therapists' evenings at the same time. During those weeks the house treats bookings as peak-date bookings: half the fee confirms them whatever the notice. Booking a day or two ahead is sensible, and a same-day request during a big event may be offered a later hour than you asked for.
Privacy for business travellers
Everything is arranged by WhatsApp or Telegram, so nothing is said aloud in a shared taxi or an open-plan lounge. The session is not billed to the hotel room and does not appear on the company account. The therapist arrives alone, dressed for the street, and goes straight to the room number you give. If your hotel asks guests to meet visitors in the lobby, mention it and she will message when she is downstairs.
Deposits are sent by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto. Many business travellers keep a personal card for this, separate from the corporate one. The balance at the door can be cash, card or crypto.
Preparing a business hotel room
Business hotel rooms tend to be compact and over-air-conditioned. Turn the air conditioning off or up by several degrees half an hour before she arrives; the room should feel slightly too warm while you are dressed. Clear the desk chair of clothes and the bed of papers. Put the laptop away, and put the phone on silent somewhere out of reach, because a message from a colleague halfway through undoes a surprising amount of the work. The preparation guide has the full list.
The morning after
Most people sleep better after a long session than they have all week. Expect to wake looser through the back and a little slow for the first half hour. Drink water before bed and again on waking. If the next day involves a long flight home, the loosened back tends to cope with the seat better than it did on the way out. And if you are in town again next month, a first booking that went as arranged means a same-day hour or two next time is paid entirely at the door.
Every client must be twenty-one or older. The page on booking to your hotel covers the practical side of a hotel visit in more detail.
