Body to Body Massage Over King's Day in Amsterdam

King's Day turns Amsterdam orange and loud. Booking a body to body massage for that evening or the morning after takes planning; here is how to do it well.

On the twenty-seventh of April the whole city goes outside. Canals fill with boats, streets fill with music and second-hand stalls, and almost everyone wears orange. For a visitor it is one of the most memorable days to be in Amsterdam. It is also one of the most exhausting, and one of the hardest evenings to find anything at short notice.

These notes explain how a body to body massage over King's Day works: when to book, how the day changes travel, and what makes the session afterwards worth the planning.

Why King's Day needs planning

Three things change on the day. First, demand. Many visitors come to the city for the celebration, and many want an evening in their room afterwards. Second, movement. Streets in the centre close to traffic, trams run differently, and a journey that takes twenty minutes on a normal evening can take much longer. Third, rhythm. The party begins in the morning, often the night before, and most people are finished by early evening.

For those reasons the house treats King's Day and the night before it as a peak date. Every booking for those dates sends half of the fee ahead to confirm it, however short the notice. Booking a day or more in advance is strongly advised; a same-day request may be offered a later hour than the one you wanted.

Booking a body to body massage over King's Day

Write a few days before. Give the date, the time, the length, the form and the full address, including a note if your hotel sits inside the closed area of the centre. The confirmation names a therapist and states the deposit, half of the fee, sent by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto.

On the day itself a same-day request is still answered in about ten minutes and reaches central addresses forty to sixty minutes after it is confirmed, but a pre-booked time is the reliable choice, because it lets the therapist plan her route around closures. If you book for eight in the evening, she plans for eight in the evening.

A booking can be moved once, to another date within fourteen days, if you ask more than twenty-four hours ahead; the deposit carries over. Cancelled bookings keep the deposit, so choose the time once you know how the day is likely to go.

Choosing the time

Most people who celebrate from late morning are ready to stop by six or seven. An evening session between eight and ten catches the moment when the body has had enough of standing and walking and the mind is still bright from the day. Leave time for a shower and something to eat beforehand.

The morning after is the other good choice. The streets are being cleaned, the city is quiet, and many visitors wake stiff and a little dehydrated. A ninety-minute session in the late morning of the twenty-eighth is a gentle way to recover before travelling home.

Which length suits the day

After a long day on your feet, ninety minutes (€270 with one therapist) or two hours (€360) are more useful than one. The legs and lower back carry most of the day's strain, and broad weight-led contact needs time to work through both. Couples who spent the day together may book one therapist at €720 for two hours on the couple row, or a therapist each at €1,440 for two hours on the couple, two therapists row. Every two-therapist booking carries a deposit on any date.

Before she arrives

Shower off the day, including any orange face paint, since it transfers easily to towels. Drink a large glass of water, and then another; a day of beer and sun is dehydrating, and weight-led massage is more comfortable on a hydrated body. Warm the room. If the celebration continues outside your window, close it and put on some quiet music. The preparation guide covers the rest.

One honest point: a client who is too drunk to stand steadily cannot have a session, on King's Day or any other day. Therapists are right to leave in that case, and the deposit is not returned. Plan the drinks with the evening in mind.

What the session does after a long celebration

The legs benefit most. Hours of standing on bridges and walking between street parties leave the calves heavy and the hips tight. Slow, broad passes along the back of the legs, working towards the heart, move that heaviness in a way that feels almost immediate. The lower back, which has carried the weight all day, responds to the long forearm work beside the spine.

Most people fall asleep easily afterwards and wake looser than they expected. The aftercare guide has more on the next day.

The balance is settled when the therapist arrives, in cash of any currency, by card or in crypto. Clients must be twenty-one or older, as on every other day of the year.
