Pride Amsterdam takes over the city for a week at the end of July and the start of August, and its Canal Parade, with boats moving slowly along the Prinsengracht watched from every bridge and window, is one of the largest open-air days of the year. A body to body massage during Pride is a booking many visitors make for the quieter evening after the parade, or for the morning after a long night out.
It is a week that rewards planning. Here is how to book well.
A peak week for bookings
The house treats Pride week as a peak period. Every booking on those dates sends half of the fee ahead to confirm it, whatever the notice, by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto. Hotels are full, the centre is crowded and a same-day request at a popular hour may be offered a later time. Writing a day or two ahead is the reliable approach, and it is essential for the evening of the Canal Parade itself.
A booking can be moved once, to a date within fourteen days, if you ask more than twenty-four hours before its start; the deposit carries over. A cancelled booking keeps its deposit, so fix the time once your plans for the week are settled.
Timing a body to body massage during Pride
On parade day, the canal belt is packed from late morning until early evening, and streets near the route are hard to cross. A session booked for eight or nine in the evening avoids the crowds and meets the body at the moment it wants to stop. Anyone staying close to the route should mention it in the message, so the therapist can plan her approach from the quieter side.
On the days around it, the choice is freer. Many visitors pick an afternoon on a day without events, when the room is cool and the body has recovered from the night before. Time of day does not change the fee: there is no supplement after midnight or at the weekend.
What a festival week does to the body
Standing on bridges for hours, walking between parties and dancing late load the calves and the lower back. Summer heat adds dehydration, and sleep during a big week tends to be short. The result is heavy legs, a tired back and a head that has not been quiet for days.
Broad, weight-led contact answers that combination. Slow passes along the backs of the legs ease the calves, and forearms drawn beside the spine undo the stiffness low in the back. And the slow rhythm of the technique gives the mind something steady to follow after days of noise.
Summer heat and the room
Most advice about preparing a room is about warmth. In an August heatwave the problem is the opposite. Keep the room comfortable rather than cold: switch the air conditioning off or to a mild setting about half an hour before the session, since a cold draught on oiled skin is unpleasant once you lie still. Close the curtains against the evening sun. Shower in lukewarm water rather than hot. Drink water through the afternoon, not all at once. The preparation guide has more on getting a room ready.
Length and rates for the week
Ninety minutes, at €270 with one therapist, is the usual choice after a long day outside. Two hours, at €360, suit the last evening of a trip. A couple sharing one therapist pays €540 for ninety minutes on the couple row; a couple with a therapist each pays €1,080 for ninety minutes on the couple, two therapists row, and every two-therapist booking carries a deposit on any date. Rates for every combination are listed on the therapist profiles.
Friends sharing an apartment for the week can each book their own session, with their own therapist, one after another or at the same time in separate rooms.
Who books, and how the booking is read
Every therapist on the roster is a woman, and women, men and couples of every kind book the same technique in the same way. The thread asks for a time, an address, a length and a form of contact, and nothing more. If more than one person will be present, say so in the message, since the therapist needs to know who she is meeting before she sets out. The couples page explains how a session for two is arranged.
Sobriety, briefly
Pride is a celebration, and plenty of drinking happens around it. Weight-led massage needs a client who can say when something hurts. Someone heavily drunk cannot have a session, and the therapist will leave with the deposit kept. A drink or two earlier in the day is no problem.
Afterwards
Expect to sleep long. The legs will feel lighter the next morning, which helps if another day on your feet follows. Drink water before bed and on waking.
Whatever the deposit left unpaid changes hands at the door, as cash in any major currency, by card or in crypto. Bookings are open to clients aged twenty-one and over, in Pride week as in every other.
