Body to Body Massage During ADE Week in Amsterdam

Amsterdam Dance Event fills the city with late nights and sore feet every October. Planning a body to body massage around the festival, dates to deposits.

Every October, Amsterdam Dance Event turns the city into a five-day marathon of clubs, conferences and afterparties. Visitors arrive from everywhere, hotels fill, and the usual rhythm of the week disappears. A body to body massage during ADE is a popular booking for exactly those reasons: the legs are tired, sleep is short, and there is one free evening to recover before the next night out.

These notes explain how to plan a session around the festival.

Why a body to body massage during ADE needs booking ahead

The house treats ADE as a peak period. Every booking on festival dates sends half the fee ahead to confirm it, whatever the notice, by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto. Demand runs high at unusual hours, and a same-day request at a popular time may be offered a later slot. Writing a day or two ahead is the reliable approach, especially if you want a particular therapist from the roster.

A booking can be moved once to a date within fourteen days if you ask more than twenty-four hours before it; the deposit carries over. Cancelled bookings keep the deposit, so fix the time once your festival plan is settled.

Choosing the right moment

Festival days do not follow normal clocks. Some visitors are out until six in the morning and asleep until two in the afternoon; others attend daytime conference sessions and go out late. The session fits well in the gap before the night starts, or on the one evening you have decided to stay in.

An early evening booking, around six or seven, catches the body after sleep and food but before the next set of hours on your feet. Alternatively, a late morning or early afternoon session the day after your longest night helps you recover before travelling home. Time of day makes no difference to the fee: there is no surcharge after midnight or at the weekend.

What a festival week does to the body

Hours of standing and dancing load the calves, knees and lower back. Club floors are hard. Sleep is short and irregular, and hydration is usually poor. The result is a particular kind of tiredness: heavy legs, a stiff lower back, and a nervous system still running at the speed of the music.

Broad, weight-led contact answers that well. Slow passes along the back of the legs ease the calves and hamstrings. Long forearm work beside the spine loosens the lower back. And the steady, heavy rhythm of the technique gives the nervous system something slow to follow, which is often what visitors remember most.

Length and rates

Ninety minutes, at €270 with one therapist, is the usual choice for a festival recovery session. An hour, at €180, suits a short window before going out. Two hours, at €360, suit the last day. Friends staying in the same apartment book separate sessions, one therapist each, each at the single client rates. Two therapists for one client, four hands, cost €360 an hour on the single client, two therapists row, and always carry a deposit.

Before she arrives

Drink water steadily through the afternoon, not all at once. Eat something. Shower properly. Warm the room. If friends are sharing the apartment, make sure the room you use has a door that closes and that nobody will walk in. A client still under the effects of a long night, alcohol or anything else, cannot have a session; therapists leave in that case and the deposit is kept. The preparation guide lists the rest.

Apartments during ADE

Many festival visitors stay in rented apartments rather than hotels. Send the full address with the building entrance, the buzzer name and the floor. If the apartment is shared, say how many people are staying there. The therapist arrives alone, forty to sixty minutes after a same-day confirmation or at the booked time, and the session takes place in a private room with the door closed.

Afterwards

Most people want to sleep straight after a festival recovery session, and it is worth letting that happen rather than heading straight back out. If you do go out later, drink water first, and expect the legs to feel lighter on the dance floor than they did the night before. The aftercare guide explains the rest.

The balance is paid on arrival, in cash of any major currency, by card or in crypto, and every client must be twenty-one or older.
